Easy, Cheesy 4-Ingredient Biscuits

It’s no secret that Oprah loves bread, and so do I! This recipe for 4-ingredient cheese biscuits is especially appealing to me because they are easy as they are delicious. They are also the perfect accompaniment to the three soup recipes I have shared on this site: Homemade Chicken Noodle, Hearty Vegetable Beef and Creamy Broccoli.

They are also a wonderful breakfast treat served with fig jam.  There are only four ingredients, so these homemade biscuits go together quickly and easily.

I also like that the only equipment you need are a big bowl and a wooden spoon to mix the dough until everything is moistened.

Then you just drop the batter into prepared muffin tins. No rolling and cutting needed. Make sure the tins are well greased or you can use muffin or cupcake papers to save some clean up time. I like the well-greased option because the biscuits are crustier.


4-Ingredient Cheese Biscuits
  1. 2 cups self-rising flour
  2. 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  3. 2 sticks butter, melted
  4. 1 cup sour cream
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Spoon into well greased muffin pans, regular or mini size.
  2. Bake at 425 degrees about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
