Enjoying Smoothies after My Freaky Fall

So you all may have been wondering why I haven’t been updating my blog on a more consistent basis lately and, the truth is, I had a freaky, serious fall just after Christmas. (Advice: Do not speed walk at night when you can’t see obstacles in your path.)   I ended up in the ER for six hours. I broke my jaw in two places along with cuts and a few other injuries.

All things considered, I am very fortunate it was not worse. The great news is that I will fully recover with a little time. I choose to focus on the positive!

Get well soon

Some of you may have noticed a lot of re-runs on my website and now you know why. Many thanks to my Web Manager, Jennifer Hambric, for keeping it going. I am able to resume my posts now. During my recovery time, I will get back to sharing some of our favorite passions on my site, but not as often.

I hope you will continue to visit and enjoy my food, fashion and other favorite things that I love sharing with you.

I am becoming quite an expert at protein shakes and smoothies, since I must drink all my food for a while. That isn’t easy for this foodie, but I have discovered some delicious, healthy combinations that I will continue to enjoy even after I am completely healed. I’m including a few favorites today.

Meanwhile, thank you for your much appreciated thoughts and prayers. My Bible Study teacher sent me some of the best advice that may be helpful for some of you during an illness or anytime. Beth wrote:

“ I will be praying for the Lord to surround you with his Love, to give you peace and patience as he works to put you back together. May this time of stillness for physical healing, also be a time of Spiritual rest and restoration.”

Wise words.

Hope you enjoy these four delicious, healthy smoothies…..in sickness and in health.
