When Starbucks announced the return of pumpkin spice lattes on September 6, it became a trending topic online almost instantly.
Among the many reasons to love fall, the availability of pumpkin-flavored everything is somewhere near the top of my list. It’s hard not to love pumpkin’s irresistibly delicious taste! From pies to smoothies, at this time of year, nearly all of my favorite food items and drinks somehow incorporate the taste of this delicious squash plant!
However, I’ve notice that many venues don’t offer pumpkin-flavored cocktails in spite of the season. That’s why I decided to create my own! Read on for the recipe for my apple cider pumpkin cocktail.
- 1 Cup or Large Scoop of Ice
- 1 ½ oz. Pumpkin Purée
- 1 ½ oz. Vanilla-flavored Vodka
- 2 oz. Apple Cider
- 1 ½ oz. Ginger Ale
- Pour ice into a cocktail shaker. In the shaker, combine the pumpkin, vodka and cider. Cover and shake for 15 seconds. Strain into a glass filled with ice and top off with ginger ale.
This cocktail recipe combines the flavors of fall – pumpkin and apple – and is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth without being overwhelmingly sweet.
